Welcome To My Website

Hello, and Thank you for visiting my website!

I’d like to thank all of you for the positively overwhelming support since I posted my video message on March 26, 2015.

The amount of people who’ve shared their compassion for the treatment of individuals in the special needs community is absolutely staggering!

I wanted to spread acceptance and awareness with my video message that I recorded. I’d had enough and I wanted to see a change. While I am glad that my message was received, my mission is just beginning!

Currently, there is an extremely important conversation happening among many people. The need for acceptance and inclusiveness of all individuals with Special Needs is imperative in order for us to move forward while making positive changes! Over the past few months, I’ve read many comments from people who share my feelings on this subject. I’ve also read comments from people who have suggested that I “Develop a sense of humor” because “It’s just comedy”. I must say that the negative comments have reaffirmed the need to promote acceptance and awareness!

I understand that it may be difficult to identify with the trials, emotions, and…even the small victories that parents like myself, caregivers, family and friends experience as they care for their loved ones living with various special needs. This is the reason why we can’t miss this opportunity to enlighten one another.

There is a real need for more positive conversation regarding the way that society views individuals with special needs.

I would like to see the exchange of information and spread of acceptance continue long after today. This is a positive platform. Any negativity, hurtful comments, etc. will be deleted.

If you are interested in learning more about what you can do to show compassion and practice acceptance, please join me at “Walk One Day In Our Shoes” on Facebook, and here at walkonedayinourshoes.com. By following, you can learn more about me, my life raising a daughter with autism, and our journey to spread awareness and acceptance. You'll also have an opportunity to share your stories.

Instead of saying, “SOMEONE ought to do something about this!”…I became that SOMEONE!” Join me on this journey…
